Earl Haig Hall Vintage Jumble Sale

I've said before that Earl Haig Hall is one of my favourite venues in North London. When the Vintage Jumble Sale returned last weekend I decided to head down to check it out, but first I popped to a jumble sale being held at a local school where I grabbed a few vintage items too.

Earl Haig Hall is a pub that serves amazing food and hosts various events throughout the week.

The Vintage Jumble Sale hosts a number of sellers with stalls and rails to rummage through. Many sellers will allow you to take stuff into the loos to try it on.

There are rails of bargains at £2 and £5 as well as individually priced items.

I loved these funky and unusual gift cards by heykidsrocknroll.etsy.com - something about Jeremy Corbyn in fuzzy felts just feels right!

LCR Vintage is a seller I have got some lovely things from at these sales.

I had a good old rummage at Ruby and Pearl's stall and grabbed a few bargains!

As well as a DJ there are plenty of cakes available -sustenance is a mustenance!

There is even a little seating area to enjoy a brew and a cake.

My Haul

I have made a youtube video of my haul and the individual items I bought which you can check out on my youtube channel here:  https://youtu.be/qTA4BbTacRk

My outfit

I always dress down for carboot sales or jumbles so with a barrel roll in my hair and a headscarf on I shoved on my pedal pusher jeans and went casual for the day.

I love my Lulu Guinness shopper because its roomy enough to carry my treasures home but it has a zip for security, and the little peekaboo eye design is really cute and unusual.

I'm late to the dark lipstick party but am really feeling the more sultry shades at the moment.

On a side note if you do venture to Crouch End be sure to visit Rileys Ice Cream Cafe, I am not a desert lover but their coffee and pistatio ice creams are dreamy!

I hope you enjoyed this post, I am heading to the £1 sale at the East End Vintage Clothing Company on Saturday so I am pretty sure there is another haul to follow.

The Vintage Furniture Flea - London - Picture Post

When I saw there was a vintage furniture flea market being held 10 minutes from my house in Crouch End I just knew I had to check it out.

The Vintage Furniture Flea is run by Judy's Vintage Fair and was held at Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre.

Entry is £2.00 (or £3 for early birds)

I am currently renting in Crouch End but that won't stop me eyeing up furniture for my vintage home after my inevitable lottery win!

I'm going to list these photos seller by seller and link their information below the photos so you can look them up.

I love this little guy!

This foldable  trolly table would be great for a flat.

Mix and match crockery for £1.00 what a bargain for a quirky table setting.

This beautiful wicker chair was getting a lot of attention.

I can't decide if it's cute or creepy but I love this dog light.

I adore this style of photo frame that can just be seen in front, but also - FLAMINGOS!

These tables are just gorgeous, I have a soft spot for the atomic style.

What living room bar would be complete without a pineapple?

I find vintage children items fascinating as they contrast so starkly with today.

Kitchen utensils that have lasted so much longer than their modern throw away counterparts and so decorative!

I am a sucker for a shelf unit and loved the scalloped style edges on this one!

Who says you can't buy vintage that matches, by coming to dedicated markets you can kit out your glassware cabinet in style!

Vintage games - I may not know how to play them but I love the idea of learning

Clou had some beautiful fabrics for sale too

I secretly long for a no mod cons kitchen with original pans

Harvest Moon

This lamp is not origional obviously but it is so funky and retro and wouldn't look out of place in a modern home, which is the beauty of this sellers work. They also sell original lamps too but this one stole my heart.

Retro Bazaar

Many of these beautiful old radios have been converted so you can plug an MP3 into them, breathing new life into the old casings.

This was my personal favourite, the detail on the front making it an ornate item as well as functional.

This little dresser was fabulous and would look great in a retro style teens room.

This bedside table got me going, I love maps and thought the top was such an interesting feature.

I love that the map was local to London too, a nice touch for a London home.

I have wanted a plant stand for the longest time, this one was too big for my place but its adorable!

Patsy's Kitchenalia

This was one of my favourite pieces from the market, I love the idea of these three little pots taking up the space of one on the hob and cooking a whole meal in one hit, meat potatoes and veg - done!

The brand is called Judge and I think the colours are so beautiful for a truly kitch kitchen.

This glass topped laundry basket also caught my attention, I love the colour.

The sale itself was well organised, the space was a good size so it never felt overcrowded and it was clear whose stall was who's.

If you are going as a furniture buyer you will want to have the budget for it, this is a serious vintage sale and you won't find any old tat or broken rubbish. This comes with a price point of course.

However all the sourcing has been done for you by the sellers and you could kit out entire rooms in one hit but you'll have to be prepared to pay non bootsale prices which is something people sometimes forget! That's not to say there are not bargains but you won't be getting a chair for £1!

Many sellers had card machines but you should always bring cash just in case, some sellers will also deliver.

These was music playing throughout which kept the atmosphere up and the sellers were all so lovely in letting me take photos of their wares for the blog.

The next Vintage Furniture Flea Market is in East London on 2 July in Bethnal Green and if you are in the market for furniture or just want to browse some collectables it's worth a visit.

OOTD Summer Cotton Bootsale Find Dress

Today I took myself off to a vintage furniture flea (more on that on Wednesday) and as with all vintage events I decided to give a new dress a spin.

I picked up this light cotton dress at a car boot sale a couple of weeks ago, although at £11.00 it was much more than I would usually pay but I fell in love with it - I know, I'm cheap!

This dress is very sheer so I wear a slip under it. I decided it was perfect for summer because it is short sleeved and is a little loose on my waist so I don't feel too restrained by it in the heat.

The pattern of this dress really caught my eye with it's mix of floral and polka dots. It's so bright and cheery, perfect for the warmer weather!

As well as it's slightly dropped waist detail another feature of this dress is the tie neck which someone complimented me on. I think it's a great feature, it's a nice vintage touch and means my chest is covered from the sun.

I teamed this dress with these beautiful vintage earrings which I recently converted to posts, I picked these up in a charity shop.

Of course I had to wear some bakelite so I selected a sunny stack of yellows and greens to coordinate with the print on the dress.

I loved my yellow Hotter "Sandy" shoes so much I now have them in pink and black so I chose the pink pair to wear with this as I wanted to avoid an overload of yellow and they picked up the pink in the pattern nicely.

As it is so hot there was only one option today and that was an updo. I decided to wear my peach coloured headscarf to keep the pastels theme going. I threw some victory rolls in the front and just did a french twist in the back which is covered by the scarf.

I hope you enjoyed this OOTD post and look forward to writing all about the gorgeous furniture finds on Wednesday.

Until next time
